Faculty of Dentistry University of Malaya (UM), the foremost, premier and oldest dental school in Malaysia. The teaching of dentistry at the University of Malaya has a long history that can be traced back from the establishment of Dental Department at the King Edward VII College of Medicine in Federation of Malaya (1927-1949) and Department of Dentistry, University of Malaya in Singapore (1949-1961), which later became part of the University of Singapore (1962-1980) following the Legislation passed in 1961.
